It blows me away how popular this image is. When I initially did this session in 1997 I took this on a whim, a chance moment between shots. For the first few years I had it, I hated it. I thought it looked too ... I don't know how to put it in words. I didn't think it was my style. the image is completely candid, a lucky shot. I hated that this was better than any of the planned stuff I shot that day and that upset me for some childish reason.

I originally edited it around '99 on a old PC with a horrible monitor. Now, 9 years later, my skills have improved as well as my tools, and I wanted to revisit this image. One that has become my most popular image. It's grown beyond me in some ways. It was with apprehension that I approached retouching it for print sale. But this version is by far better than the one I originally posted years ago.

Thank you so much, everyone who has left me comments and praise. It means the world to me. Thanks for helping make this image so popular.

That is an AWESOME shot man! It reminds me of the scene in Deep Impact where the old guy and his daughter are waiting for the huge tidal wave to come and kill everybody.

The Key to this inner world is imagination, which gives expression to those intuitions that mark each persons unique being.
Honestly, although its not my style, thats the most beautifull photo I've ever seen, I've never said that before
I LOVE candids, this is a shining example of why they are great. Fantastic job.

thats gorgeous...only way i can put it...as if you placed every element in yourself...but instead you managed to capture all of them at once when they were perfectly aligned...

How many animals can you fit in a pair of tights? 10 little piggies, 2 calves, 1 ass, 1 pussy, 1 beaver, countless hares & a dead fish nobody can find.

WOW--awesome, awesome, awesome!!! (it's eaten up my vocabulary, apparently)

..love the moodiness, the colors, the subject, the composition, everything, everything, everything! especially the moodiness. this really resonates with me, for some reason. candid and unplanned are often the best, as this shows.

beautiful work Thumbs Up
